An acclaimed painter visits Japan for an exhibition and spends his leisure time relaxing in a Japanese bath, or onsen. But there's a lot more to it. He is informed that the bath's owner has a forgery on his hands. At the bath, he meets a doppelgänger, and the situation sets the stage for what follows.
