Overview
Bottom is just a British anarchic sitcom written by and starring comedian duo Rik Mayall and Adrian Edmondson as socially awkward, sexually inexperienced Richie Richard, along with carefree alcoholic Eddie Hitler, 2 societal outcasts living on the dole, trapped together in an everyday grind in a squalid flat in Hammersmith, London. Exhausted perpetually skint and frustrated, they spend bickering , and also being sadistic and ugly to each other. The series ran for three series airing from 1991 - 1995, and has been followed closely by five point series tours throughout the uk between 2003 and 1993, and a feature picture guesthouse Paradiso. The series is noted for humor slapstick that was barbarous and its chaotic comedy.
In 2008, Bottom came in at number 45 in a poll to see"Britain's Best Sitcom" by the BBC. The series continues to be shown on Gold and Dave in britain and it has been dubbed in different languages. In Spain the series is famous. The theme music has been provided by The Bum Notes, a band that previously featured Edmondson, and is just a cover of"Last Night" by The Mar-Keys.
Plans were created for a BBC spin off collection featuring the Richie and Eddie characters. But, this job was cancelled that October before production as Edmondson explained that he wanted to pursue different interests.
