Overview
A. J. Cronin's stories about Dr. Finlay inspired the British TV series Doctor Finlay. It's a sequel to Dr. Finlay's Casebook. John Finlay returns from war in the 1940s. Early plotlines include the creation of the NHS and the modernization of a Scottish medical practice. David Rintoul plays Dr. Finlay, Ian Bannen plays Dr. Cameron, and Annette Crosbie plays Janet, his servant. Jason Flemyng plays Finlay's assistant, Dr. Neil, and Jessica Turner plays his new partner, Dr. Napier. The series was filmed in Auchtermuchty, Fife, Scotland. It was on PBS' Masterpiece Theatre.
