Matt drops for Casey. She is eccentric and fun-loving, but there is a shadow to her whimsy which Matt can not start to grasp. When Casey attempts to commit suicide, then she is placed by her parents into a mental institution. Matt springs her out, and the young lovers head to a road trip. They believe their love can"cure" Casey's problems. Matt starts to wonder if are they misguided or motivated.
