Alex, a lonely college student, spots his favorite filmmaker, JP Smith, lurking about his sleepy upstate New York town. They start a dangerous connection, with Alex becoming the star of JP's latest film: a lo-fi, vérité depiction of Alex's life, in which the line between truth and fiction gradually blurs.
