Dr. Jill Peterman, a relationship therapist, had the highest-rated call-in radio show when her life was turned upside down when a female caller called Alexis committed herself on-air. Dr. Jill went away from her program, shaken to her core, vowing to never return. That is, until Stuart, the station's General Manager, begs Kate to restart the show in order to rekindle interest in the station. Jill agrees to assist her buddy, believing that this will be the ideal way to relieve her year-long anxiousness. As Jill returns to her show, mysterious call-ins begin to appear, leading her to fear there is a copy-cat on the loose. What Jill discovers is a network of secrets and falsehoods emanating from Alexis, the strange voice she has come to know.
