The movie is based on Emmanuil Kazakevich's book. A huge tank division dubbed Viking is prepared for the Nazi onslaught on captured Russian terrain in the summer of 1944. An elite Russian sniper squad called "Zvezda" is sent beyond enemy lines to recon the German Tank Division. Two prior Russian units vanished. The seven Russians know they will die for Victory.
