Regent Horthy is Hungary's leader and a German ally, but his relationship with Hitler deteriorates as the war winds down. To avoid witnessing his son's execution, Regent Horthy cedes sovereignty of his country to the Nazis, who promptly relocate Hungarians to ghettos and death camps. However, when a young man named Elek appears, the despair is alleviated. Elek challenges the enemy by becoming one of them, despite being separated from his family throughout the relocations and assisted by the lady he loves. He starts on a journey to save his family and thousands of his countrymen dressed as a Nazi Officer in a race against time.
